Austro Control provides air navigation services across Austrian airspace — around 4,000 flight movements per day — and at ten regional aerodromes in Germany, including the aeronautical meteorological service. It is also the AVIATION AUTHORITY, providing safety oversight and certification on behalf of the Republic of Austria across commercial air operations, AIRWORTHINESS AND AIRCRAFT MANUFACTURING, pilot training, dangerous goods and aeronautical personnel licensing. It sells services and consulting in these fields on the international market and participates in Single European Sky work on future European air traffic management. DRONESPACE is its dedicated UAS arm, covering operator registration, SORA assessment and airspace authorisation.
